Younger/ Early Onset Alzheimer's & Dementia
Alzheimer's is not just a disease of old age. Younger onset also known as Early Onset Alzheimer's disease also affects people younger than 65. There is more than 5 million Americans who suffer with Alzheimer's younger onset.
Many people who get Early Onset Alzheimer's disease are usually in their 40's to 50's, and have normal lives and careers. In the Untied States, it is estimated that 200,000 people have early onset.
Diagnosing early onset in younger people is generally a long and frustrating process, and many times can be over-looked by medical professionals as stress from normal day life or conflicting from other illnesses. Those who have Early Onset may be in any stage of Dementia.

Have a comprehensive medical evaluation with a doctor who specialized in Alzheimer's disease. Get a diagnosis that involves a medical exam, cognitive tests, and a neurological exam or brain imaging.
Write down symptoms of memory loss or other difficulties and share with your general practitioner doctor.
Keep in mind there is no one test that can confirm Alzheimer's disease.
