Medical Marijuana, Can Treatments help Alzheimer's

Throughout history around the world, medical marijuana or medical cannabis has been used for treating disease or symptoms of diseases. Marijuana is a controversial topic in the medical community, with many respectful doctors who are for the use of it for medical treatments, while other continue to add the idea of addiction effects on patients.

For someone who suffers with dementia or Alzheimer's, the disease interferes with nerve cells in the brain effected by the beta-amyloid build up, causing interferes with communication in the neurons, eventually killing off cells and the the nerve dying. If enough of the nerve cells die, eventually the brain dies. It's more less a person going in reverse from Adult to Baby again, they eventually need 24 hour care, as they are unable to take care of themselves anymore.(2)

Recently, back in 2016 the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved two medical marijuana medications in pill form (dronabinol) and (nahilone), both used in the treatment of nausea caused by chemotherapy and increase for appetites for people with AIDS (1) However, some organizations such as the American Society of Addition Medicine are opposing the usage for medical treatment.

Researchers have recently conducted studies showing that the THC and other components found in marijuana has reduced the death of nerve cells and increased the brain activity in someone who suffers Alzheimer's. Although, currently the results have shown no addiction, it was also given in small dosage. As research continues, the results will speak for themselves, and possibly even concluded that it could even reduce the chances of dementia and Alzheimer's.

My conclusion is that anything is possible in research, and that I feel that marijuana has always played a strong role in our society as a medical treatment for pain, inflammation, and disease. As well as many other useful aspects such as increasing the economy for some States. And as far as addiction goes, I feel that their are many narcotics on the pharmacy market, that also cause addition and even over-dosage that lead to deaths. I don't know about you but I've never have heard of someone over-dosing on marijuana or dying from it.
